DAVID ERASTUS SIBERT (1888 – 1974), son of David Erastus Sibert4 (Henry3, David2, John David1)
David Erastus Sibert was born on 3 July 1888 in Alabama. [1][2][3][4][5] He died on 10 June 1974, aged 85. [2, 9 June][5] He married first Mary Virginia Holland on 18 November 1909 in Franklin County, Tennessee. [1][2][6] Virginia was the daughter of Sam Lige and Celestie Layton (Gossage) Holland. [7] She was born on 7 September 1890 in Decherd, Franklin County, Tennessee. [1][2][7] She died on 6 December 1980, aged 91. [2] David and Virginia apparently divorced after 17/19 January 2020. David married second Mary Elizabeth Conley. [2] She was the daughter of Patrick Joseph and Josie (Sullivan) Conley. [2][7][8] She was born on 17 April 1899. [2][7][9, 1898] She died on 16 May 1978, aged 79. [2][9] She is buried in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Tampa, Hillborough County, Florida. [2] David and Mary apparently divorced by 3 April 1940. Mary married second Rene G. Danis on 25 November 1952 in Lucas County, Ohio. [8] David married third, as her second husband, Cordylee (Elgin) King in 1945. [2] Cordylee, the daughter of Alonzo and Glendora (Dollins) Elgin, was born on 7 April 1906. [2] She died on 8 September 1976, aged 70. [2] She married first Emmett S. King in 1923. [2] Emmett, the son of Stephen Henry and Mary Emma (Southall) King, was born in 1906 and died in 1966. [2] Emmett and Cordylee apparently divorced. Emmett married second Ruth Virginia Burchfield. [2] David, Mary Elizabeth and Cordylee are buried in the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Nashville. [2]
According to the census, on 16 April 1910, Dave E., aged 23 and born in Alabama, and Virginia, aged 21 and born in Tennessee, lived in Nashville. David was a druggist. [10]
According to his 5 June 1917 World War I draft card, David Erastus was married and had a child. He worked as a salesman for the Imperial Motor Company in Nashville. He had served in the infantry as a musician. He was of medium height and build with blue eyes and brown hair. [3]
On 17/19 January 1920, E. David, aged 32, and Virginia, aged 29, lived in Nashville with their son E. Thomas, aged nine and born in Alabama. E. David was a sales manager in the automobile industry. [10]
On 14 April 1930, David E., aged 41, and Mary, aged 38 and born in Tennessee, lived in Davidson County with their daughter, Mary Elizabeth, aged eight and born in Tennessee; their son, David E., aged six and born in Tennessee; [Mary's] uncle, R.M Sullivan; and David's widowed mother-in-law, Jessie Conley. David worked in automobile manufacturing. [10]
On 3 April 1940, David, aged 51 and born in North Dakota[!], was single and lived alone in Nashville. He was a salesman. [10]
On 1 April 1950, D.E., aged 60, and Cordylee, aged 45 and born in Kentucky, lived in Nashville with David's stepson Logan King, aged 24, and a lodger. David was an automobile salesman and Cordylee was a secretary for a book publishing company. [10]

i. Thomas Elwood Sibert was born on 14 September 1910 in Albertsville, Marshall County, Alabama. [1, 8 September 1911][2, 7 September 1910][4][11] He died on 28 December 1987, aged 77, in Forsyth County, Georgia. [2][4, 29 December][12] He married Willedeth Petitt in 1939 in Colbet County, Alabama. [2][11] Willedeth, the daughter of Gustavus and Myrtle Louise (Byrd) Petitt, was born on 10 February 1919 in Lebanon, Tennessee. [2][11] She died on 7 September 2011, aged 92. [2] Thomas, and probably Willedeth, are interred in the Sawnee View Gardens and Mausoleum in Cumming, Forsyth County, Georgia. [2]
At the time of his marriage, Thomas was a teacher. [11]
According to the census, in April 1940, Tom. E., aged 29, and Wiledith, aged 21, lived in Murfreesboro, Rutherford County, Tennessee. Tom was an educational advisor. [10]
Thomas was president of Fox Film of Cuba. [2]
ii. David Erastus Sibert was born on 3 December 1917 and died on 4 August 1918, age eight months. [2][13] He is buried in the Mount Olivet Cemetery. [2][13]

iii. Mary Elizabeth Sibert was born on 1 October 1921. [2] She died on 28 May 2012. [2][14] She married first, as his second wife, William Arthur Slinker. [2] William, the son of William J. and Ollie (Rhinehard) Slinker, was born on 18 May 1918. [2][15] He died on 17 March 1990, aged 71, and is buried in the Center Hill Cemetery in Center Hill, Sumter County, Florida. [2][15] He married first Marion Amelia Dickens. [2] She was born on 7 May 1920 and died on 6 July 2001. [2] He married third Sarah Ruth Martin. [2] She was born on 14 October 1923 and died on 27 December 1999. [2] Mary Elizabeth and William divorced in October 1959 in Hillborough County, Florida. [16] Mary Elizabeth married second, as his second wife, Mario Fuentes in September 1961 in Hillborough County. [2][17] Mario was born on 25 October 1913 in Key West, Munroe County, Florida. [2][9][18] He died on 15 March 1982, aged 68, in Tampa. [2][9] Mary Elizabeth (Sibert) Fuentes married third John Thomas Davis on 1 January 1984 in Hillborough County, Florida. [17] John, the son of John T. and Anna (Grabowski) Davis, was born on 27 May 1928 in Wallingford, Connecticut. [15] He died on 13 January 1994 in Apollo Beach, Florida. [15][19]
Beeson says Mary Elizabeth was born in November 1920. According to her gravestone she was born on 1 October 1921. If the 1930 census is correct, Mary was born between 15 April 1921 and 14 April 1922. Her name suggests she is the daughter of Mary Elizabeth Conley.
According to her obituary, Mary Elizabeth Davis was preceded in death by her brother, David Sibert; her son, David Ronald Slinker; and three husbands. She left three children. She was an occupational nurse. [14]
According to his 16 October 1940 World War II draft registration card, Mario had a wife Maria. [18] According to his obituary, Mario left a wife Mary E. and children with the last name Slinker. [20]
According to his obituary, John T.R. Davis was born in Wallingford, He was an electrical engineer and had served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He left a wife Mary E. and children with the last name Slinker. [19]

iv. David Erastus Sibert was born in May 1923. [1] He either died by 8 June 1924 or is the same person as the next David.
v. David Erastus Sibert was born on 8 June 1924 in Nashville, Tennessee. [2][15][18] He died on 19 December 1991, aged 67. [2][15] Ensign David Erastus Sibert, Jr. married Reuben Kathryn Brunson on 22 April 1945 in Mobile, Alabama. [2][22] Reuben, the daughter of James Reuben and Sarah (Thompson) Brunson was born on 28 August 1922. [2] She died on 7 December 1987, aged 65. [2] David and Reuben are buried in the Harpeth Hill Memory Garden in Nashville. [2]
According to his 30 June 1942 draft card, David was 18 years old and just over six feet tall, with blue eyes, brown hair, and a light complexion. [18]
David entered the Merchant Marine in 1942. [22]
